Accidents at proposed Huntsville subdivision’s entry could be deadly, residents say

Green Mountain Road resident Brandy Wilson believes someone will be killed in an accident if the entry to a proposed subdivision on her road isn’t changed.

“I’m not saying houses can’t go there, but the loss of life, I just want it on record stating that people will lose their lives,” Wilson told the Huntsville Planning Commission last week about plans for the 48-lot Cove at Green Mountain.

The subdivision is expected to be constructed on a 177.8-acre site north of South Green Mountain Road and west of Old Big Cove Road. At issue is the entry into the subdivision, which is at the bottom of the mountain below a curve on Green Mountain Road.

Wilson shared photographs with the commission during the public hearing before a vote on relayout and preliminary approval of the subdivision, which is near her property and on land once owned by her family.
